چکیده
Coastal areas and coastal communities are facing threats due to the impacts of climate change. Therefore, assessing their vulnerabilities potential for natural habitats contribute protecting is essential effective long-term planning, sustainability, resilient management. This study modeled mapped vulnerability using InVEST 3.9.1 model developed by Natural Capital Project Vulnerability explore role in mitigating hazards Southern Al Sharqiya Wusta Governorates Sultanate Oman. The results showed that highest hazard classification > 2.67 represented 18% distribution, intermediate ranging between 2.31 2.66 38% lowest 1.22 2.30) 44% distribution. These results, however, did not account protection. In terms hazards, presence reduced extent exposed shoreline 14% 8% areas, respectively. Under habitat’s scenario, could provide 59% protection under exposure category 41% category. a no-habitat about 75% vulnerable 25% demonstrate it critical, especially policymakers, enhance ecosystems achieve resilience. buttresses importance ecosystem assessments ensuring resilience change adaptation processes any countries.

Framework for Analysing Coastal Vulnerability Due to Sea Level Rise and Coastal Floods using R
Sea level rise is a natural global phenomenon which is aggravated by anthropological activities. Severity of the rise varying in different parts of the world but the stress in general is increasingly threatening human development. Sustenance of a few species and their ecosystem depends on the rate and extent of rise. Coastal floods are inundations in coastal areas due to rise in sea water level...
متن کاملVulnerability of Buildings on Coastal Dikes due to Wave Overtopping
The vulnerability of buildings on coastal dikes due to overtopping wave impacts is difficult to assess. A method is developed in this paper to quantify the vulnerability of masonry buildings on a coastal dike exposed to wave overtopping. Using previous studies, the accidental loads due to the extreme wave impacts are characterized. Using the approach from Eurocode 6, the strength of masonry bui...
متن کاملQualitative Assessment of the Coastal Plain of Talesh using the Modified DRASTIC Vulnerability Method
Given the fact that the DRASTIC index is ineffective in addressing the saltwater uprising issue in coastal plains, in the present study, three factors including land use, distance to shoreline, and differences between groundwater and sea level were added to the DRASTIC index. The proposed modification to DRASTIC was validated using the measured electrical conductivity (EC) data gathered from gr...
متن کاملCoastal Vulnerability and Risk Parameters
The natural environment is unequivocally the life support for all human systems. Far for being a luxury available only to those who can afford it, successful environmental management will increasingly become the basis for the success or failure of the economics and social systems of entire countries. In the last two decades, concern has been expressed about possible effects of climate change in...
متن کاملModeling Coastal Vulnerability through Space and Time
Coastal ecosystems experience a wide range of stressors including wave forces, storm surge, sea-level rise, and anthropogenic modification and are thus vulnerable to erosion. Urban coastal ecosystems are especially important due to the large populations these limited ecosystems serve. However, few studies have addressed the issue of urban coastal vulnerability at the landscape scale with spatia...
